Q: How much does it cost to train at ITC?
A: Members are entitled to an unlimited number of lessons at a flat fee. Please contact our staff for more information regarding our fees at firstname.lastname@example.org
Q: What will I need to do Taekwon-Do?
A: For your free trial lesson, just bring along a pair of track pants and a t-shirt. No shoes are required as you will be training bare footed. Once you’ve decided to become a member and train regularly, you will be required to purchase a uniform (called “dobok”) and a belt. We will advise you on any other items you will need when you visit our dojang.
Q: How much does it cost to buy the uniform and belt?
A: It will depend on your size as well as what class or grade you hold.
Q: Can I come and watch a class to see if it is for me?
A: We encourage people who are interested to not just watch, but to join us for a free trial lesson. There are no obligations whatsoever to join after the session. Seeing may be believing, but doing will help you better decide if it is for you or not.
Q: How do I apply for a free trial lesson?
A: To sign up for our free trial lesson, click here.
Q: Are there different classes for children/adults/women/beginners?
A: At ITC, we believe that every student can learn from each other – children and adults, men and women, beginners and seniors alike. As such, anyone can join any class. The youngest age accepted for children is age 4. However, we do offer advance classes for those who are more keen to do intensive training.
Q: Do you offer private lessons as well?
A: Yes, we do offer private lessons. For further details, please contact us so that we may better understand your needs.
Q: How do I become a black belt?
A: ITC follows the International Taekwon-Do Federation syllabus closely for grading of our students and instructors. All beginners will start as white belts and we will guide you through our syllabus to prepare you for your exam. Grading for colour belts is held four times a year, and grading for black belts is held twice a year. To pass the grading, you will need to learn all the components of your syllabus for your grade.
Q: Do you offer martial arts insurance?
A: Island Taekwon-Do Centre does not sell or profit from any insurance. However, we can refer you to an insurance provider in the event that your insurance provider does not cover you for martial arts related injuries.
Q: Do you have tournaments and competitions?
A: Some tournaments and competitions are held regularly (World Championships) and others on an ad hoc basis including those in Singapore. ITC receives invitations from the International Taekwon-Do Federation affiliated clubs and organizations around the world to participate in their championships. If you are interested in training to participate in tournaments and competitions, please visit our dojang to discuss this in further detail. ITC also offers tournament training classes for its members. Please visit our dojang to learn more about it.
