On the 15th of November 2012, Master Daniel Sng held a Black Belt grading for Mr. Norbert Strobel (1st Degree Black Belt from Melbourne, Australia) who was grading for his 2nd Degree Black Belt. Mr. Norbert, accompanied by Sabum Andrew Kung, came to Singapore to grade.

The grading was mentally and physically challenging, but nevertheless, through perseverance and indomitable spirit, Mr. Norbert pressed on and emerged victorious against himself. He performed all patterns from Chon-Ji all the way up to Gae-Bek, broke boards and did many physically straining exercises such as heavy skipping, which were part of a long list of requirements for his grading.

The grading was also graced by a long time friend of Master Sng, Master Peter Wong from Perth, Australia.

After the grading, we had dinner together and were able to have the opportunity to interact with both guests from Australia. We were able to forge new friendships with fellow lovers of ITF Taekwon-Do from other parts of the world.

I would like to congratulate Mr Norbert on completing his grading and being successfully upgraded. On behalf of Master Sng and Mr. Norbert, I would like to thank all assistant instructors for assisting in this grading, namely Sabum Andrew Kung, Bo-Sabum Shaun Chua, Bo-Sabum Jeremy Tan and Bo-Sabum Carnation Chai. Island Taekwon-Do Centre certainly hopes to have Mr. Norbert training with us again in the future!
