79th International Taekwon-Do Instructors Training Course

On 31st May – 1 June, 2012, approximately 70 Taekwon-Do practitioners, from Malaysia, Singapore, Bangladesh, Australia and Hong Kong, descended on Kluang, Malaysia for the 79th International Taekwon-Do Instructors Training Course.

The course was led by known other than Grand Master Choi Jung Hwa, who was ably assisted by ITF Secretary-General Master Trevor Nicholls, Master James Hogan, Master Daniel Sng, Master David Lau and Master Dantes Poon.

Day 1 of the course commenced with registration at Chong Hwa High School. This was followed by an opening speech by Grand Master Choi in which he emphasized the fact that Taekwon-Do should be practiced in a balanced manner. Character development as taught through the tenets of courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit is equally as important as the physical development practiced through the Tul, sparring and skills development .

Instruction in the teaching of the patterns for all the coloured belts followed. Importance was placed on the need to execute the Tul with power.

Day 2 comprised instruction in teaching the Black Belt patterns up to First Dan. A closing dinner was held at Prime City Hotel.

Truly an instructive two days!

Taekwon,
